| June 26 | Excursion | 'From Weeds to Wildflowers', from 8:45 am to 3:00 pm. In the morning there will be four presentations in the Glen Forrest Octagonal Hall, 52 McGlew Road. The presentations will be followed by lunch and then a tour to either the Glen Forrest superblock OR a tour of sections of the Helena River Catchment between the Scott St bridge across the Helena and the Pipehead Dam.. Please note there is a charge for this: $25 for non-Wildflower Soc members and $15 for members. That cost includes morning tea and lunch. Attractions: a very pleasant, gentle, 2 km walk around the lake. After the rain there should be waterbirds. Facilities include toilets and a nearby coffee shop. Individuals may like to take a more extended walk in the valley afterwards. |
