The Serventy Memorial was established in 1989 as a memorial to the contribution by the Serventy family to the Club. The fund was established using a $1000 donation; and with the aim of assisting and encouraging young people in the study of natural history. Additional capital is raised for the fund by the annual Serventy Memorial Lecture and by seeking donations.
In this short video, taken from the 2012 Serventy Memorial Lecture, Roz Hart provides an introduction to the Lectures and the Serventy family’s role in the Club.

The Serventy Memorial Prize
Two annual prizes for university students were established in 2002. These were the WA Naturalists’ Club Serventy Memorial Prize at Murdoch University and The WA Naturalists’ Club Serventy Memorial Prize in Natural History at the University of Western Australia. The prize was awarded at Curtin and Edith Cowan Universities for the first time for the 2004 academic year.
