Carine Swamp¦GOLLY Walk

with the NORTHERN SUBURBS BRANCH

Meet: Car park at the Riding for Disabled Association centre, Dedben Pl off Monyash Road, Carine.

Carine Open Space is centred around two swamps which are home to a large variety bird life. A wide range of flowers and native trees are also abundant, especially around the bigger swamp, which has a walking trail weaving through its depths. This will also an opportunity to look for fungi. Along the way we will visit the heritage listed site of Briggs’ lime kiln, built in 1874 by 15-year-old Thomas James Briggs.
Approx. 3.5km on flat ground, formed paths, toilets.
