Nature Road Show with Eric McCrum at Mundaring Blue Sky Festival – with DRB
17 March, 10:00 am-4:00 pm
The Blue Sky Festival will take place from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Saturday, 17 March 2018.
The event will be held along Nichol Road, Jacoby Street and the Sculpture Park in Mundaring.
The Blue Sky Festival is a sustainability focused festival based on themes such as biodiversity, renewable energy, waste management and saving our bushland. It is a local, non-commercial, low waste and plastic free event. It will bring together a range of organisations and community groups who all share common values in highlighting the importance of environmental issues and sustainability in the Mundaring Hills. The Blue Sky Festival will be a family orientated fun event where all participants will take home some ideas and information on being a more
sustainable community member – and a greater knowledge of the local nature.
Yes! The Darling Range Branch of the WA Naturalists’ Club is having a stall there, PLUS a “Nature Road Show” with ABC Birdman, Mr Eric McCrum.
Please come visit us.
We will have a stall which will include:
- Stuffed exhibits such as a Quenda and a Kestrel.
- Live exhibits, such as stick insects.
- Books for sale including one on Fungi of the area, written by one of our members, Kevn Griffiths.
- New 2018 Colour A4 printed flyers on our Club.
- A barrel for a draw with a free prize in the morning at 12 noon and afternoon at 3.30pm.
- Other items on the stall – to be decided.
We also will hold a “Nature Road Show” along the lines of the “Antique Road Show” with ABC Birdman, Mr Eric
McCrum, who is also a founding member of the DRB Nats. Here is Eric with Gillo from ABC radio.
People can bring nature items, e.g. flowers, or photographs, or recordings (e.g. of bird calls, frog calls, etc.) to be identified by Eric.
This will be held twice, once at 11am-11.30am and once at 2pm-2.30pm.
It will be of interest to children and adults. One of our younger members, aged 10, will be providing the live exhibits and may be there to chat to children. Also, when Eric McCrum is there children can bring items for identification. He is absolutely great with children.
