Farewell to Ocean Reef Bushland¦GOLLY Walk

24 June, 10:00 am

Location:        Ocean Reef Boat Harbour, Ocean Reef

Meet:                   Park in the northern end of easternmost row of the boat trailer parking area along Boat Harbour Quay. Look for Club Sign.  Nearest Bus Stop is on Hodges Drive 1.1km, Bus Routes 460 , 470

DWER has recently issued two Clearing Permits as a prelude to a much greater clearing of 42 ha (24 ha being bush) for the Ocean Reef Marina development. While August-October is the best time to walk through the area it may not be possible to do this once clearing starts. Therefore we will take the opportunity now to walk through some of the bush to look at some of the locally rare plants, observe the local birds including Osprey, Pacific Gulls, White Winged Fairy Wrens and maybe even a White-Breasted Robin or a Quail.  Finishing with a walk along the cliffs (which will also be destroyed) taking in wonderful views while searching for samphires and the Native grape.

Contact:             WAIT LIST  ONLY  As the number of participants is limited to 15 it is essential you book with Don (see organiser details)

Advance Notice

We are planning another Escargot and Truffle Event in July. This time at Star Swamp.

Probably either 11 or 12 July. Keep the days free if you want to join our search for native land snails and fungi.
