Geologising and Fossilising¦Golly Walk
23 June, 10:00 am
Meet outside Scotch College Rowing Boathouse.
Suggest you park along The Esplanade and walk approximately 150m north along path to boat shed.
We shall examine a section of the Tamala Limestone which has been exposed by the downcutting of the Swan River. We will be able to examine a variety of paralic depositional environments from shallow marine to aeolian. Although our visit is just after high tide we still hope to be able to view the fossils in the rocks on the river side of the path.
This is about a 1.6km circular walk. Wear clothing and footwear suitable for short walk in the prevailing weather.
For those who would like to have a coffee or lunch afterwards, Freshwaters, located about 800m south from our meeting point is highly recommended.
Toilets are located 50m south of our meeting point.
No booking necessary
