Helena and Aurora Ranges—LRX
19 September-25 September
Tuesday 19 to Monday 25 September
This year the Club has organised an excursion to the Helena and Aurora Range (HAR), one of only a few banded-ironstone ranges in the Great Western Woodlands that remain intact. The HAR provides a sanctuary for birds, reptiles, mammals, and plants, some of which are not found anywhere else on earth, but is under threat from mining operations.
This is a tag-along 4WD trip and numbers will be limited to a maximum of 8 to 10 vehicles. The group will meet at Southern Cross on 19 September and travel to Helena and Aurora Ranges, Mount Manning, Die Hardy Range and finishing at Baladjie Rock.
Suitable for independent, self-catered, 4WD only; fuel range 600 km+, off-road camper trailers OK; no facilities.
Cost: $150 pp.
