Seagrasses and Climate Change
18 November, 7:30 pm
Tonight’s speaker is Associate Professor Kathryn McMahon (ECU) speaking about Seagrasses and Climate Change.
Seagrasses are marine flowering plants that live in our coastal waters. Their presence helps keep our beaches stable, cleans our seawater and supports many other plants and animals, enhancing biodiversity. Like many habitats seagrasses are threatened by climate change. This talk will showcase some of the research undertaken at ECU to help understand, predict and manage human impacts, including climate change in seagrass systems.
