Wongan Hills is renowned for its display of featherflowers (Verticordias), birds and orchids. During this excursion we will look at the Verticordias in Reynoldson Reserve, visit some lesser-known places, photograph plants and animals, and go for night stalk(s).
Accommodation: As this excursion is during the Verticordia festival, it is recommended to book your accommodation early. Options in town are limited to the caravan park and the hotel/motel. Or bush camp at ‘the patch’ just west of Mount Mathilda or at Oak Park campground (north of Goomalling).
Meet: We will meet at the Visitor Centre on Friday morning, 9.30am. Wongan Hills is about a 2-hour drive from Perth. You do not need a 4WD/AWD, but it is recommended to bring if you can. Further details on what to bring will be sent to you closer to the excursion date after you have RSVP’d.
Cost: Free for members, non-members $10.
