Lake Adams Golly Walk

Northern Suburbs Branch, 27 September 2023

The Golly walk around Lake Adams in Mariginiup was led by Sasha Poli, the City of Wanneroo’s Senior Conservation Officer. Unfortunately, the majority of Orchids at Lake Adams had finished. However, it was still a lovely walk with everyone intrigued by the Pigmy Drosera, probably Drosera callistos or D. pulchella, which were in flower. Ian Abbott recorded 21 bird species, which added considerably to the three listed by the City of Wanneroo.

After Lake Adams, Sasha took those interested to Discovery Park in Banksia Grove, which had nice morning tea facilities. It was a fortunate choice as everyone was very impressed with this gorgeous patch of bush, the Enamel, Dancing Spiders/Bees, and Blue Lady Orchids. Golly, so glad we came here!
