November 2020 Members’ Night and KRMB AGM Report

The theme for this meeting was a Members’ Night. The first presenter was a new member, Malcolm Roberts, who showed a slide show featuring some photographs of a trip to Karijini NP, on which he was a guide. The photographs highlighted the spectacular scenery to be found in the many gorges for which the area is renowned. From these photographs it is easy to understand why Karijini is such a popular destination for both local and overseas tourists. There were also many images of flora, especially various species of Mulla Mulla (Ptilotus sp.) that were flowering in good numbers, providing a splash of colour to the arid landscape.

The next presentation was from Colin Prickett who showed a selection of photographs from recent KRMB outings to Bindoon and Yallingup (as reported in the September and October newsletters respectively). To round off his presentation he showed some photographs taken in Karnup Nature Reserve earlier that day. These included photos of a White-banded Grass Dart (Taractrocera papyria) a Butterfly, Shy Sun Orchid (Thelymitra graminea) and Leopard Orchid (Thelymitra benthamiana). The audience thanked both presenters for sharing their images.
