June 23: Bush Walking Group Report

A note to all the wimps who were too scared to leave their front doors for fear of getting a bit wet: you sure missed a wonderful day! The bush was sparkling in the sun with the previous night’s rain—so green and peaceful. The tracks were good—well-bedded down and drained of puddles—the air temperature warm and pleasant and fresh bush smell wafted around us. What could be more perfect? Allowing five minutes for latecomers, five intrepid explorers set out and laughed all the way to the end at what the others had missed. At lunch we sat on a 5-seater log and enjoyed a few moments of silence to take in all that beauty. We voted it a fantastic day (even if the pumpkin scones got a teensy bit soggy when a little rain appeared right at the end.)
