Retired astronomer Dr Craig Bowers will speak about the international Dark Sky movement and the Australasian Dark Sky Alliance, with a focus on how lighting affects everything: We are losing the night sky due to Artificial Lights At Night or ALAN and this impacts flora, fauna and of course ourselves.

Craig’s talk will cover aspects of light pollution, the impacts, what Naturalists can do either at home or through citizen science projects.

Craig remains the Perth Observatory Historian and Curator; but he has always been a nature enthusiast.
