Clean-up Australia Day

9 March 2024 , 8:00 am 10:00 am

The WA Gould League and WA Naturalists’ Club have jointly registered as a ‘Clean Up Australia Day’ site, and we are thrilled to take part in this community event to preserve our precious wetland space.

As part of our annual Clean-up Day event, which falls on the 1st of March (long weekend), we have decided to hold this event in conjunction with the WA Gould League on Saturday 9 March. We will start with a bird walk at 8am. At 9.00am, you will be assigned a supervisor and an area to collect rubbish, around the centre grounds and along Moondine Drive. All materials will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own gloves if you wish.

Return to the Discovery Centre at 10.00am for a free morning tea as a gesture of our appreciation, and to congratulate you on your hard work!

If you are interested in attending this event, please RSVP on Gould League website with number of participants in your group.

Note: This event is not on the official Clean Up Australia Day date, but on the 9th of March for maximum participation!

What to Bring: Please bring a water bottle and wear comfortable sun-smart clothing, a wide-brimmed hat, covered shoes, and gloves if you own a pair.
