Local ecologist, David Pike, has added bats to his long list of interests, particularly in insects and wildflowers. David will explain how this interest came about and what he has learnt about the four species found around Perth. He will also demonstrate how technology is being used to detect and identify the species here and overseas. If time and weather permits, we may venture into Star Swamp Bushland to listen for bats.
