Common methods of determining the status of finfish stocks will be explored. The methods will be illustrated with two examples from Western Australia, Shark Bay Pink Snapper, Pilbara Red Emperor and also Scalloped Hammerhead Shark from Gulf of Mexico. Determination of the future sustainable catch will be illustrated for the three species.
