POLYPHAGUS SHOTHOLE BORER

15 April, 7:30 pm-9:30 pm

Note our February, March and April meetings will be held on the third Tuesday, not Wednesday, due to HEC being unavailable.

The NSB of the Naturalists’ Club and the NSB of the Wildflower Society will hold a joint meeting to enlighten members to the devastation this sesame seed-sized beetle can cause.

Our speaker will be Courtney Butterworth,

| Stakeholder and Community Engagement Officer

Polyphagous shot-hole borer (PSHB) Response

Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development

Courtenay’s  presentation will cover the beetle’s biology, the environmental risks it poses, and the hosts it prefers. Additionally, she will discuss how community involvement—including citizen science and local initiatives—can play a vital role in controlling its spread.
