Wildflower Identification with Author Penny Hussey at Hawkevale Bushland, High Wycombe

11 October , 9:30 am 11:30 am

Hawkevale Bushland is situated in the Perth foothills, near the corner of Kalamunda Road and the Roe Highway, in the High Wycombe area.

Hawkevale Bushland had already been recognised as containing one of the three most threatened plant communities remaining on the Swan Coastal Plain. There has been a DEP recommendation that 20 hectares – the best bush areas – need to be conserved to maintain their environmental value.

The reserve lies at the north-east corner of the built-up area, adjacent to Roe Highway.
We will enter the reserve at the south-east gate.  Turn north off Kalamunda Road onto Hawkevale Road.  Follow it to a T-junction, with the reserve fence ahead.  Turn east onto Buttercup Crescent, park on the verge where the road makes an abrupt turn south.
