CCWA has a new Executive Director, Matt Roberts. He brings a broad experience in leadership, organisation planning, campaigning, communications, and media.

He brings a diverse background, including experience with the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation and the Department for Communities, teaching at UWA, and a leadership role with the Australian Greens. He has a strong focus on building consensus.

He was a senior policy advisor with DWER, so he understands environmental policy development well. He has overseen electoral campaigns and understands advocacy.

We wish him well taking over from the excellent work of Jess Beckerling and Mia Pepper, Campaign Manager, who has acted as Executive Director for several months. We look forward to reviewing the new strategic plan, to offer WA Naturalists Club and other member groups a robust peak body for nature.
