Perth’s Urban Reptile Ecology- A member request and survey

Ashleigh Wolfe  a Nats member and PhD candidate at Curtin University studying WA reptiles, has advised us of the following:-

“One of my studies right now is looking at human-reptile interactions, particularly how Western Australians (and people who are visiting Western Australia) respond to reptiles when they encounter them.

For this April only, I’m hosting a 5 minute anonymous online survey inviting people who have seen a WA reptile in the wild over this past Spring/Summer to share their experiences. I’m particularly interested in people who have encountered snakes, and comparing the responses of people in Perth with people living in/visiting regional WA.

I’m trying to have as many people take the survey as possible, and I would really appreciate it if you could help spread the word. I’ll be happy to share my findings once the survey is finished!

The more people that take this survey, the more information I will be able to share. I think that it is extra important considering we’ve had a bumper year for snake sightings in Perth.
