This book has an age ceiling of 12 years; however, on review, it’s definitely a book an adult would enjoy owning and reading. The artwork is beautiful, and it’s a great tool for better understanding and recognising our amazing Australian plants.
There is a map to assist in finding local plants in each state and a very encouraging section on how to use the book. The Plant ecoregions pages are yet another way to identify where these plants can be found, with details on locations for some plants.
The glossary can build early learning components of plants to teach children the correct terminology without overloading them with information.
Reviewer: Frankie Wallace (mother of two), Grad Dip Psychology, BA Psychology and Counselling works with Young Juveniles.
This book is now available for loan to members at the WA Naturalists’ Club Library and will shortly be available to reserve with the introduction of the online system.
