Annual General Meeting 16th November 2015

The November meeting was also the KRMB AGM. Our Chairperson Alan Bellman presented a summary of the year’s meetings and excursions and thanked all office bearers for their support during the year. The committee was re-elected without any changes.

After the formalities of the AGM were completed the remainder of the meeting was filled with presentations by Bob Goodale and Colin Prickett. Bob showed a few photographs of a pair of Kookaburras that were nesting on Goodale Sanctuary. The photos depicted how efficient a predator the Kookaburra is, with one parent having a snake in its beak and the other with a skink as they constantly hunted for food for their chicks. Bob then played a slide show that he had put together to show the diversity and number of insect species that were attracted to flowers of the Pineapple Bush (Dasypogon bromeliifolius). Many beautiful butterflies, moths and beetles were shown in the slides. Colin then presented photographs of the various plant species found during the August field excursion to various nature reserves around Wongan Hills (as documented in the report in the September newsletter).
