KRMB General Meeting 15th February 2013

 Kwinana/Rockingham/Mandurah Branch

The February meeting saw 13 members turn up for our first meeting of the year – a Members’ night. There were three presentations of photographs from trips made by various members to the Mid West, Gascoyne and Pilbara regions. First up were Bert and Ailsa Rabone who showed us a selection of photographs taken on a trip north that they made at the start of the last spring. The trip took in Wongan Hills, Mt. Matilda, Lake Ninnen, Lake Heinz, Dongara, the Murchison River, Tom Price and Karajini National Park. The photographs showed plants, landscapes and birds sighted during the trip.

The second presenter was Pauline Dilley who showed photographs of a trip that she had taken to similar areas but also included many photographs of marine life around the SharkBay and Exmouth areas.

The final presenter was Chris Punter who showed some photographs taken on a trip to the Cue and Payne’s Find areas last spring. The photographs included some of a large flock of Mulga Parrots at Geoff and Rosalie Barritt’s property at Cue. Others showed a Yellow Spotted monitor and Chris added that they spotted many of these monitors dead on the roads in the region. The audience thanked all the presenters for sharing their experiences with us. It was a very enjoyable night. Colin Prickett
