Five members and four guests attended this excursion, led by local naturalists Shelley and Kendra Campbell. Shelley provided an identification sheet and explanation about the identifying features of the orchids to be seen at the park. The group completed the Woodlands Walk trail, a 2.6km loop.
There were examples of local common orchids. Although an unseasonal heatwave the week before had impacted several of them, many that had been flowering a week earlier were finished by the time of the walk. Leopard Orchids (Thelymitra benthamiana) were in bud, but it was too early for flowers to be out.
