At the last AGM, the Council informed all members that membership fees had to increase due to increasing costs of running the Club, many of which were in line with the CPI. However, to increase our efficiency, to be able to include members’ photos in a colourful form and help reduce costs, members of the Council have set up and produced an electronic version of the newsletter which has now been trialled for the last few months.
We have previously asked members to indicate if they would be happy to move to receiving the electronic version only but we are hearing that many of you have assumed that as you have an email address registered with the Club, we would automatically phase out posting the printed copy.
We are listening to you so this change will take effect as of July 2012.
This month, June will be the last time that members who have not contacted us will receive both electronic and per newsletter versions. From July onwards, members with e-mail access will only receive the electronic version unless they specifically request the paper version as well by contacting the Club’s office.
Please think hard why we have chosen to move to electronic distribution before choosing to receive both versions, and think of the newsletter posting team who would like you to make their task easier.
If you would like a printed version and would be happy to collect it at the meeting, we will have some printed copies available at the July and August meetings in case some of you choose this option.
Members for whom an e-mail address is not recorded will continue to receive the paper version of the newsletter as usual.
If you have any questions, please contact the office by phone or e-mail.
